BPOTY - Celebrating the best images from Spain

Bird Photographer of the Year has been fortunate enough to attract amazing photography from all around the world, photography we have been celebrating in a series of articles promoting our photographers from various countries. BPOTY is extremely well supported by our friends in Spain, many of whom not only submitted some amazing photography in 2019 but have done well in past competitions. We take this opportunity to pay homage to these photographers and their images.

Arturo de Frias received an Honourable Mention from the judges for this high key image of a winter plumage Rock Ptarmigan photographed in Svalbard and entered in the Best Portrait category. Entitled ‘Drawing in Red and Black’ the judges loved the minimalist style of this photograph.
