Editor of BirdWatching Magazine

Matt joined the staff of the American magazine BirdWatching (formerly Birder’s World) in 2000 and has worn many hats over the years: associate editor, photo editor, managing editor, and now editor. He has written about Whooping Crane conservation, bird-friendly yards, and the search for Mexico’s Imperial Woodpecker, among many other topics. Matt selects the photos that appear in the magazine and managed a weekly photo contest for many years. In the last two years, he led the production of two special issues, including A World of Birds (2018), featuring photos and profiles of 50 incredible bird species from around the globe.
